2019 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient Ceremony

Join us in celebrating Jacquie Perrin (BA ’73) with the2019 Distinguished Alumni Award
The York University Geography Alumni Network is pleased to announce that the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient is Jacquie Perrin (BA ’73). The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes York University geography graduates for their outstanding academic or non-academic contributions to geography and those who have had a distinguished career in the broader community in Canada or elsewhere in the world.
Jacquie Perrin is being acknowledged for her achievements in private and public broadcasting both behind the microphone and in front of the camera. Beginning her career at CKWS radio in Kingston, Ontario, she hosted a daily talk show. On the CBC, Jacquie was a news announcer for National News with Metro Morning and Ontario Morning. Subsequently, she hosted Market Place (CBC Television). Now a familiar face to Canadians, Jacquie went on to host CBC Television Sunday Report and was a respected reporter for The National. She earned an ACTRA Award for interviewing skills on private radio.Jacquie credits her Geography degree for helping further establish her career by becoming a local weather reporter.
