Daniela Balutel on Cryptocurrency, Financial Literacy and Investor Behaviour
We are excited to invite you to an upcoming talk by Daniela Balutel, a Mitacs postdoctoral fellow at York University, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Schulich School of Business, York University.
Drawing on data from the Bitcoin Omnibus Surveys, Balutel will present key insights from her research on the dynamics of crypto-asset ownership and usage in Canada. She will also explore the links between digital and financial literacy, cash usage, gender differences and the role of beliefs in shaping decisions within the Bitcoin market.
Whether you’re new to cryptocurrency or a “crypto expert,” this talk will offer a valuable opportunity to understand the financial implications of digital currencies and the role they play in today’s economy.
This event will feature a brief introduction and Q-and-A moderated by Schulich Professor Henry M. Kim.
This event is co-hosted by the Schulich School of Business, York University’s blockchain.lab, and the Ontario Blockchain Cluster. This event is supported by York University VPRI’s Catalyzing Interdisciplinary Research Clusters grant
