In collaboration with Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, Student Counselling, Health & Well-being has launched a “Recovery College”. A Recovery College provides health and wellbeing courses that strive to support students in living their best life by covering diverse topics that support health, well-being and personal mental health recovery.
Self-Discovery – A Journey to Understanding & Embracing Yourself
In this 4-week series, we will explore personal growth, identity, and well-being to help you navigate university life with confidence and resilience. Through interactive discussions and reflective activities, you will gain deeper self-awareness, learn strategies for managing stress and develop a mindset of self-compassion and growth. Whether you are looking to better understand yourself, strengthen your well-being or create a more fulfilling university experience, these sessions will provide you with valuable tools for personal development. While attendance at all four sessions is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged to gain the full benefit of the series. Each session builds on the previous one, ensuring a cohesive learning experience.
What you will learn:
- Week 1 | Finding Me, Myself, and I – Discovering your values, strengths and personal identity for greater self-awareness
- Week 2 | Finding U in Uni – Navigating university life with purpose, building meaningful connections and creating a sense of belonging
- Week 3 | Fun-tastic Stress Relief – Engaging in creative and enjoyable ways to manage stress and maintain emotional balance
- Week 4 | Loving Yourself: Being Whole & Worthy – Cultivating self-compassion, embracing self-worth and developing a growth mindset
