How do you know learning happens? Winter 2025 Virtual Course for Graduate Students
This free course is designed to bring together graduate students who are interested in teaching and learning, to explore, dialogue, and reflect on teaching and learning in higher education. We hope that you can use this time and information to explore your own teaching identity and support your peers in doing the same. We will discuss different learning theories, teaching practices, and evidence for effective teaching and learning. Topics will include: Universal Design for Learning, Equity, Diversity, Decolonization, Inclusion and Accessibility (EDDIA), and Learning Science.
We hope at the end of this course you will have gathered lots of ideas to explore and contribute to your teaching philosophy.
The course will consist of five two-hour synchronous sessions on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. spread between January 14 to March 18 via Zoom, and an online component in eClass between sessions.
