The Weight of Unresolved Potential

THE WEIGHT OF UNRESOLVED POTENTIAL

A Solo Exhibition By Max Trutneva

The Weight Of Unresolved Potential explores the emotional struggles, unresolved ideas, and complex experiences of the mind and body through a presentation personifying unsettling emotional states.

The unsettling parts of mental and physical health, and gender identity, are often too disturbing to be brought up in conversation. As a society, we are taught to only display the good parts of ourselves and leave the rest at home. We often avoid discussing our struggles, fearing it may make others uncomfortable.

But through my creative process, I use negativity as a source of inspiration and magnify it for the world to see. My art is an exploration of my most vulnerable and rawest form. I shed my skin and show my mind – my struggles with mental and physical disabilities, gender identity and transphobia – through my art.

My experiences have made me who I am as a person, and who I am as an artist. I display my struggles to encourage others to do the same — you are not alone.

This exhibition is dedicated to trans individuals whose lives have been affected by recent political events. Our fight is not over. Stay alive.
