Webinar for Incoming Grad Students – Discover Graduate Supervision at York!
Once again, congratulations on your acceptance and admittance to grad school at York University! We hope you’re already looking forward to your program orientation events – many of which will take place over the summer or at the start of the Fall semester. But, to help you get started even before then, FGS has put together another virtual session to help you ensure a smooth transition into your program: think of it as a guide to the steps between acceptance and the start of class.
We invite both domestic (Canadian) and international incoming graduate scholars to attend our August pre-arrival webinar.
Topic: Discover Graduate Supervision at York
When: Thursday, August 15
Time: 12:30-1:30 PM (EST)
Location: via Zoom Webinar
This webinar explores the role supervision plays in graduate studies, highlighting how it shapes your learning experience. Designed for new graduate students, we will unpack the Ontario Principles for Graduate Supervision, focusing on student responsibilities. Hearing from current grad students, participants will learn tips for effective supervisor-student relationships, do’s and don’ts for understanding expectations, and making the most of your supervisory experience. Our goal is to help start you off on a successful grad school journey.
[We’ll also be available to answer questions you may have, to the best of our ability – and to direct you to the right place for any that we can’t]
Registration is required: https://yorku.zoom.us/webinar/register/

We hope to meet you virtually in August!
