Join us for Mentor Circles featuring Sunbir Gill (BSc ‘99, MSc ‘07) as he shares his experiences as a York alumnus and mentors you on:

Graduated with a BSc Honours computer science degree in 1999 from York. Sunbir returned to complete a master’s in computer science in 2007 and he has remained a generalist software engineer throughout his career. After having a wild ride career-wise including being an early employee at a Mark Cuban funded startup in the dot-com bubble; grinding serious hours for an Activision studio to develop Nintendo games; and a tour-of-duty in big tech including Amazon, Google, and Apple where he has contributed to the launch of consumer-facing services, mobile developer SDKs, and scalable distributed backend infrastructure. Sunbir currently works for Reddit focused on media and content ranking related problems.
