Brought to you in partnership between the Career Centre, Undergraduate Psychology Student Association, and the Department of Psychology. Have you wondered where your Psych degree can take you? Meet employers and York alumni who utilized their Psychology degree to launch into various career pathways. Learn how they were able to market their transferable skills and knowledge gained during their Psych degree and what career insightsthey’ve learned throughout their journeys thus far. The panel discussion will be followed by an open forum where students will have an opportunity to ask the panelists their own questions

Alexander Soibel, CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional)
Senior Clinical Operations Leader, Roche
BSc. ’09, Psychology
Alexander Soibel is a clinical trials expert with over 15 years of experience. He began his career at York University, where he worked at the MAR lab and the LaMarsh Centre for Child & Youth Research. He currently leads clinical operations and business process innovation at Roche, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. Alex has a diverse and rich background in various industries, such as software and food (especially desserts). He applies his psychology skills from York to mentor and coach talented individuals and teams.
Anh Nguyen
Research Analyst, CAMH

Anh Nguyen graduated in 2021 with a BA in Specialized Honours Psychology. Anh has been working as a Research Analyst at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health for the past 3 years. Anh is interested in psychological research and mental health advocacy. Anh is excited to share her academic and professional experiences with you as a York alumna.
Kate McLeod, MA, RSW
Clinical Director & Individual and Child Counsellor, C.A.R.E. Counselling & Coaching

Kate McLeod is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology with an undergraduate honours degree in Psychology. Kate is certified in both Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Circle of Security Parenting, as well as specializing in providing attachment-informed therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families.
For close to 15 years, Kate has been providing support for children and their parents as they navigate their mental health challenges and has worked in a variety of settings including; residential treatment facilities, the school board, and as a crisis responder for victim services. Kate is a strong advocate within her community and embraces a wraparound care approach when working with her clients, ensuring they are supported in every area of their lives.
Kate is passionate about mental wellness and utilizes evidence-based interventions and play-based techniques to provide unique and individualized services. Her approach is tailored to each individual as this enables her clients to achieve positive and long-lasting change.
Kaizeen Irani

Kaizeen is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology, specializing in Organizational Psychology and HR Principles. She entered the professional sphere as a Recruitment Consultant at Leap Recruitment Partners, where she applies her academic background to match talented individuals with suitable career opportunities. Kaizeen is dedicated to leveraging her expertise to create positive impacts in organizational dynamics and human resources.
