The program emphasizes theoretical and practical research that combines conceptual sophistication, reflexivity and political engagement at various levels from the global to the regional and the local. Students find inspiration and opportunity to engage in ethnographic fieldwork (including digital) in places, communities and archives on topics of contemporary and historical relevance.
