Department of Music: Open Improvisation Concert and Talk

Come hear the Department of Music’s Improvisation faculty members (Team Improv) create glorious music live! How do they do it? The mysteries of how to create fluid, coherent, open improvisations will be revealed during the session.

The concert will be augmented with some on-stage discussion concerning the improvisational process, and how it relates to composition, musicianship training, and more. Team Improv, Matt Brubeck (cello), Rita di Ghent (voice), Brian Katz (guitar), Steve Koven (piano), will also provide important information about the various improvisation courses that the Department of Music currently offers.
