The Harriet Tubman Institute’s BHM: Honouring Rosemary Sadlier OOnt

Under the theme of Black Resistance, HTI’s Black History Month 2023 will focus on activities related to the accomplishments of Africans and people of African descent, spotlighting some of our own leaders in our local community here in Toronto. This event will honour Rosemary Sadlier (Order of Ontario), who is a York alum, social justice advocate, researcher, writer, DEI consultant, and international speaker on Black History, anti-racism and women’s issues. As an educator, she has developed or contributed to African Canadian curriculum, resources, national exhibits and she is an appointed member of a regulatory board of the Ontario College of Teachers. Sadlier is dedicated to social justice and using the frame of Black History, seeks to educate and empower others.
