Rapid Disaster Damage Assessment

Rapid damage assessment is a critical component of post-disaster response, a crucial step in recovery, and very essential for timely and effective decisions by emergency managers following a medium to large-scale event. While new technologies such as satellite imagery, drones, crowdsourcing, and artificial intelligence have created opportunities for faster and more accurate damage assessment, conducting rapid damage assessment on the ground faces many challenges and issues.

The main goal of this webinar series is to create a platform and forum for researchers and practitioners to share their knowledge and experiences on the current state of rapid damage assessment methods, tools, standards, procedures, best practices, etc.

CIFAL York has organized this webinar series to provide a space for knowledge exchange and experience sharing between experts and policy makers to discuss the best practices and emerging technology being used to conduct Rapid Damage Assessments. (RDAs).
