Overview
Having a shared understanding about expectations is critical for mentoring relationships to be effective. Problems often arise between mentors and mentees when there are misunderstandings about expectations. Because expectations change over time, mentors and mentees need to periodically reflect and clearly communicate about expectations. This practical session will involve discussion of scenarios resulting from misaligned expectations and how they could be resolved or prevented. The session will highlight strategies and tools useful for articulating and aligning expectations.
