Speaker Biography

For 30 years, Ms. Pond has been an agent for change, promoting peace and security and the transformation of international institutions. As a member of the international staff, she completed NATO assignments in Brussels, Kyiv and Norfolk, providing recommendations on the implementation of the alliance’s core tasks.

She served as head of the Partnership for Peace section, preparing nations to take on the responsibilities of the Washington Treaty and developing cooperation agreements with nations such as Afghanistan and Ukraine. Working as head of the NATO Liaison Office in Kyiv, Ms. Pond advised on the development of a program of cooperation to support the transformation of the Ukrainian defence and security forces.
