Why Black History (Month) Matters

The Faculty of Graduate Studies at York invites you to attend an informal dialogue around “Why Black History (Month) Matters.”
As we honour and celebrate Black History Month, there is importance in continuing the conversation around Black history, cultural and lived experiences. We must understand the past to open way for the future!
This session will be hosted by Thomas Loebel, Dean & AVP Graduate and will include:
– Gertrude Mianda, Director of Harriet Tubman Institute & Professor, Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies
– Jake Okechukwu Effoduh, PhD Candidate and Vanier Scholar, Osgoode Hall Law School
– Camellia Bryan, PhD Candidate and Elia Scholar, Schulich School of Business
