Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to practice and experience different instructional strategies with peers from across the university. Discussion and reflection will centre around the ways in which your instructional strategies are informed by the teaching and learning literature, and the ways you use the strategies intentionally to align with your teaching beliefs and commitments to Decolonizing, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (DEDI) and Accessibility.

The course will consist of five 2-hour synchronous sessions spread between January 13 to March 17, 2026 (details below) via Zoom. Online learning and preparation prior to each session will be required, for a total time commitment of approximately 20 hours.

The Biyuti Project: Queer and Trans Filipinx Youth in Catholic Education is an arts-based research project which explores the experiences of queer and trans Filipinx youth as former Ontario Catholic school students through art production and storytelling. The exhibition includes mixed media installations and textile works created from deconstructed Catholic school uniforms, Filipino materiality, and fabrics from the TMC’s Reuse Program. Learn about their experiences of faith, identity, and resistance through creative expression and storytelling.

This event brings York faculty and students together in informal collegial dialogue to discuss how AI is being incorporated into post-secondary education. Conversation will address student and faculty experiences of AI in teaching and learning at York. We will begin with time for the two groups to discuss key issues separately, followed by facilitated time for sharing of insights, experiences, and priorities between faculty and students.
