The Intellectual World War Trilogy: Western Marxism, French Theory and the Culture of Empire
On Thursday, Feb. 5, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at HNES 141, a lecture presents some of the archival research behind “The Intellectual World War Trilogy” which proposes a counter-history of theory in the age of imperialism by clearly situating it within the global class struggle.
Professor Gabriel Rockhill from Villanova University is presenter to be introduced by EUC Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning Justin Podur with Visiting Professor from Arizona State University, Alexander Aviña, as discussant.
The presentation will draw on some of the published findings of Volume 1 regarding the political orientation and patronage of “Western Marxism,” while it will also discuss the broader methodological contributions of the book to the tradition of dialectical and historical materialism.
This is an onsite event only. Everyone welcome.
