Event Overview

How do labour movements advance racial justice, and how can workers, unions, and advocates create more equitable workplaces for Black and racialized workers? This panel discussion will explore the ongoing struggles and successes of labour organizing in the fight for racial justice.

Bringing together labour leaders and advocates, this conversation will highlight key examples of successful policy changes, legislative efforts, and workplace reforms that serve as models for future action. Panelists will also discuss the importance of cross-sector solidarity, particularly in supporting migrants, gender-diverse workers, and other marginalized communities who are at heightened risk of workplace discrimination and exploitation.

In addition, the discussion will address the personal cost of this work, reflecting on how Black labour organizers and advocates prioritize self-preservation while fighting for systemic change.
