Teaching in Focus (TiF) Conference 2026 – “What is the value of teaching: Exploring why we do what we do in our practice”
Teaching in Focus (TiF) 2026 is York University’s pan university conference dedicated to reimagining the future of teaching and learning! Join colleagues who are shaping the culture of teaching and learning across our YorkU campuses. This conference brings together educational leaders, faculty, and graduate students who are exploring, innovating, or implementing scholarly and engaging approaches to their teaching practices. Discussions will centre around the value of our teaching practices – why we do what we do and is composed of keynote discussions, panels, concurrent presentation sessions, as well as opportunities to engage in meaningful discussion with colleagues.
Key Questions that we will explore include:
- How do we make our teaching more visible?
- What is the perceived value of my teaching work to my students? To my colleagues? To leadership and administration?
- Does the value of teaching improve or depreciate as we confront AI, issues in DEDI, Modes of Delivery, Academic Honesty, SDGs, the postsecondary education landscape?
