Scholars’ Hub @ Home | Dance Offers New Hope for Understanding Parkinson’s Disease
Join Joseph DeSouza, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health on April 22 at 12 p.m. In this talk, we will observe how weekly community dance classes slow down motor symptoms over a three-year period, how cognition is improved over six-years, and how speech sample measures are not affected over five-years. In addition, we will show the associated neural network brain changes as a function of learning choreography in these people with Parkinson’s disease, and our future study plans.
