Scholars’ Hub | Beyond Tokenism: Building meaningful inclusion for women, girls, and gender-diverse youth in sports
Speaker: Lyndsay Hayhurst, Research Chair and Associate Professor, School of Kinesiology and Health Science, Faculty of Health
In this session, we’ll explore the idea that sport is a human right and why inclusion is essential to making that right a reality. Community-based sport-for-development programs can create more welcoming, supportive, and meaningful opportunities for gender-diverse youth to participate in sport. Attendees will gain a practical framework for thinking about inclusion, not as an add-on to sport, but as essential to its purpose.
