Recovery College Week 5: Financial Literacy
Tuition, textbooks, bus fares, lunch, getting a coffee or energy drink to get through your 2nd lecture of the day… expenses add up quickly when you’re in university.
In this week’s session of YU & Balance, participants will:
- Get a realistic overview of their financial responsibilities
- Learn how to save money on campus, build balanced budgets and understand the differences between types of student debt.
- Students will also get a chance to ask Peer Health Educators for advice, tips and strategize on how to be more money conscious.
This session is part of a 6-week Recovery College series. For each session attended, participants will receive a $5 gift card. To receive the gift card, you must attend the full session (approximately 45–60 minutes). Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide gift cards for partial attendance. Gift cards will be emailed after the session to the same email address used to register and join the session.
Space is limited, and registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If the session is full and you’d like to be added to the waitlist, please email hstacey@yorku.ca. We’ll reach out if a spot becomes available. If you’re registered but can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as you can so we can offer your spot to another student.
