Recovery College Week 3: Making Meaningful Connections

Building connections can sometimes feel exciting, awkward or even a little intimidating.

In this week’s session of YU & Balance, we will focus on helping students feel more comfortable meeting new people, strengthening the relationships they already have and recognizing what makes a connection healthy and supportive.

Students will explore ways to:

  • Manage social anxiety
  • Build confidence in social settings
  • Think intentionally about who they can turn to for support.

This session is part of a 6-week Recovery College series. For each session attended, participants will receive a $5 gift card. To receive the gift card, you must attend the full session (approximately 45–60 minutes). Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide gift cards for partial attendance. Gift cards will be emailed after the session to the same email address used to register and join the session.

Space is limited, and registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If the session is full and you’d like to be added to the waitlist, please email hstacey@yorku.ca. We’ll reach out if a spot becomes available. If you’re registered but can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as you can so we can offer your spot to another student.
