Recovery College Week 2: Finding Self-Compassion & Dealing with Growing Pains
Growth does not always mean having everything figured out.
This week’s session of YU & Balance is about giving yourself room to explore your interests, set goals that feel meaningful and recognize that responsibilities and personal ambitions can exist together. Students will be able to take a closer look at where they are now and where they would like to go, while also considering the role self-compassion plays when plans change, mistakes happen or progress feels slow. What would you pursue if you gave yourself permission to try? And what would it look like to support yourself along the way instead of criticizing every setback?
This session is part of a 6-week Recovery College series. For each session attended, participants will receive a $5 gift card. To receive the gift card, you must attend the full session (approximately 45–60 minutes). Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide gift cards for partial attendance. Gift cards will be emailed after the session to the same email address used to register and join the session.
Space is limited, and registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If the session is full and you’d like to be added to the waitlist, please email hstacey@yorku.ca. We’ll reach out if a spot becomes available. If you’re registered but can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as you can so we can offer your spot to another student.
