Music Mirrors Minds: Neuroaesthetics and Neuro-Music with Gene Coleman
On December 3, composer and director Gene Coleman will give a talk on Neuroaesthetics and Neuro-Music, introducing his research-informed compositional methods and exploring how perception, cognition, and creativity intersect in this emerging field. Coleman’s work, which he describes as “Neuro-Music,” is shaped by insights from auditory neuroscience and examines how artistic practice and brain science inform one another.
Mani Mazinani, Connected Minds’ current Artist-in-Residence, will join the session as a co-respondent during the Q&A, bringing perspectives from his residency research. This event is part of the Body Electric exhibition and workshop series and is organized by Mark-David Hosale, AMPD faculty member and Connected Minds researcher.
