Mentor Circles | Breaking into Healthcare Careers
Join us for in-person and informal mentoring session at the Alumni & Career Lounge, York Lanes (opposite the Bookstore). This session will provide students with valuable insights into creating meaningful careers in the healthcare industry and expand their horizons.

Alumni Mentors:
Ekene Okafor (BSc ’18), Consultant at Phreesia. Ekene is a passionate healthcare technology professional dedicated to transforming patient engagement and care delivery. Currently a Consultant at Phreesia, Ekene uses data-driven insights to enhance digital health solutions and improve hospital and clinic workflows. In addition to her corporate role, she serves as Executive Director at the Black Fertility Agency where she is working to improve fertility education and access to culturally competent care for Black individuals. With hands-on experience in healthcare operations and technology, Ekene is eager to help the next generation break into and thrive in the healthcare field.
Namrita Sharma (BScN ’17), Complex Case Manager, Ontario Health. Namrita is a proud alumna of York university’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing 2nd entry program. As a registered nurse (RN), she has gained valuable experience across multiple health care settings including hospitals, long-term care, community care, mental health and public health. Currently she is working in the government sector where she contributes to healthcare initiatives at a broader level. Passionate about nursing and healthcare, Namrita is dedicated to support the next generation of healthcare professionals and share insights about this wonderful field of work.
