Meet Abok Jok (Black Stories & Black Voices Speaker Series)

The Black Stories & Black Voices Speaker Series are in-person events offering opportunities for all members of the York community to come together to spend time meeting and learning from one another.

Presented by Diversity in Action student group (from within Athletics & Recreation), this event celebrates Black excellence by featuring a line-up of speakers from the Black community at York who want to share their stories.

Meet Abok Jok (AJ): AJ is a proud South Sudanese, a fourth-year law and society major and a first-generation immigrant. President of the African Student Association, social media director of the York University Sudanese Student Association, high school teaching assistant and DJ, AJ’s journey reflects resilience, ambition and a deep commitment to uplifting her community.

Join Abok Jok and others at our first of two speaker series this month.
