How to Tell Terrible Stories: A Popular Education Dialogue about Environmental Justice
The stories of global warming and ecological disaster are terrible: Biodiversity Loss, Toxic Fog, Marine Plastic, Food Insecurity, Lethal Heat Waves, Housing Crisis and so much more. Climate scientists produce excellent scientific knowledge only to accentuate the positive for fear of scaring the public into paralysis. One climate scientist, after a public talk, explained to an activist: “There are things we could have done in the ’80s, there are some things we could have done in the ’90s — but it’s probably too late to avoid any of the worst-case scenarios that we’re talking about.”
