In-Person Digital Media Event: Fractured Moments, by Zhino Yousefi
Zhino Yousefi, a candidate it the Digital Media PhD program, will be hosting a public presentation of her installation, “Fractured Moments” which explores themes of decay, transformation and beauty through the performative act of breaking ceramic objects.
Drawing inspiration from the work of Bouke de Vries, renowned for his live performances that engage viewers in the dynamic interplay between creation and destruction, this project will take the form of a conceptual experience. It will invite participants to reflect on the fragility of materiality and the transient nature of beauty.
An earlier iteration of “Fractured Moments,” was installed at the Orto artist’s residency in Fornello, Portugal last summer. The project has been supported in part by a CIBC Fine Arts Graduate Student Award, from the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design.
