ES PhD Research Day: REFUSAL//REFUGIA
ES PhD Research Day: REFUSAL//REFUGIA
Friday November 14, 9am to 4pm, HNES 140
The PhD Environmental Studies Students Association (PhESSA), with the support of the ES PhD Program and the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, invites you join us at ES PhD Research Day 2025. This annual event showcases the rich diversity of work being done by PhD students in Environmental Studies as it addresses the increasingly fraught social, ecological, economic, spiritual, and political conditions of our time.
The day’s theme, refusal // refugia, speaks to the need for work that is oppositional and confrontational, and work that nurtures relationships of protection and sanctuary. How can our diverse research refuse and/or become refuge?
Please join us for a rich lineup of student presentations. Featured is an exciting keynote talk from ES PhD aluma Laurence Butet-Roch: “Attuning Research: Reflections on Resisting Extractive Practices”
We look forward to seeing you there!
