Corporate Power and the Politics of Change

In Corporate Power and the Politics of Change, Matteo Gatti (Rutgers Law School) examines the rise of “corporate governing,” where corporations take on roles traditionally held by governments—advocating on contested social issues and stepping in to provide public services amid political dysfunction. Drawing on legal doctrine and social-science insights, the book analyzes the drivers and backlash to this shift and offers a framework for understanding how corporate power is reshaping policymaking and what that means for business and democracy.
