Community Conversations: Communicating Integrity (ONLINE- Oct. 9, 2025, 1-2)

Join us for a dialogue on academic integrity, trust, and GenAI in teaching and learning, co-hosted by the GenAI Pedagogies Community of Practice and the Academic Integrity Community of Practice. All who teach at York are welcome in this facilitated space for inquiry, reflection, and rethinking assessments and integrity.

The first session, Communicating Integrity, will explore how educators can communicate expectations of academic integrity clearly and consistently, including how to address the role of GenAIThe session will invite reflection and discussion on how participants might refine current approaches and adopt new strategies that are practical to implement and integrated within their own teaching and assessment practices. 

There is no requirement to complete the reading, but we will be drawing on chapter 2 “Communicating Integrity” from Bertram Gallant, T. & Rettinger, D. A. (2025). The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for integrity in the age of AI. University of Oklahoma Press. We also recommend that participants review Chapter 1 “Why Students Cheat” in the same volume. Regardless of whether you read the chapter, please feel welcome to join the conversation!
