This workshop series is part of York University’s Recovery College, offered in collaboration with Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences.

YorkU’s Recovery College provides health and well-being programming designed to help students live their best lives. These courses cover a wide range of topics, including personal growth, mental health recovery and overall well-being. What makes them unique is their co-creation and co-facilitation by YorkU students, ensuring the content is grounded in lived experience. This collaborative approach fosters a supportive, relatable and empowering learning environment.


Committing to a Healthy Lifestyle 

Balancing academics, social life and personal well-being can be challenging, but it’s also achievable with the right tools and support. In this 4-week series, we will explore ways you can build sustainable habits for mental, physical and emotional well-being.

What will you learn: 

  • Week 1 | Finding Your Balance: Recognizing stress and restoring calm through mindfulness, movement, and time management.
  • Week 2 | Ready, Set, succeed: Setting goals, building your support system, and tapping into campus resources with confidence.
  • Week 3 | Campus Compass: Exploring the six dimensions of well-being and mapping out your personal path to wellness.
  • Week 4 | Connection Counts: Strengthening relationships, navigating social media mindfully, and communicating with confidence.

Whether you are looking to boost your resilience, find balance or simply feel your best, this series is your guide to living well and thriving. 

Each session provides practical tools, space for self-reflection and campus resources to support a healthier, more balanced student life. While you’re welcome to attend individual sessions, participating in the full series is highly encouraged as each week builds on the last to create a cohesive and meaningful learning experience.


Participants will also receive a Certificate of Completion following the course.
