Changing Gears Documentary – World Premiere

Join York University and Charlie’s FreeWheels for the world premiere of Changing Gears, a short documentary about bicycles and their power to propel social development. The film will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by York University’s chief sustainability officer, Mike Layton.

Changing Gears traces the diverse journeys of three community organizations operating in Canada (Charlie’s FreeWheels), Nicaragua (Comision de Mujer Joven) and Uganda (Union of Hope) in their efforts to use bicycles to create a more just, equitable and sustainable future.

The event takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Imagine Cinemas near the College TTC subway station. Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis and event proceeds will help support Charlie’s FreeWheels programming. Donations of $20 and over are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
