Caring to Teach: Supporting Students Across Modes of Delivery (Online – 7 Jun.-9 Jul., 2027)

This course will focus on caring teaching practices to help student success across a variety of modes of delivery and engagement, through applications of pedagogies of care and kindness. It will begin by introducing the concept of pedagogies of care in relation to both students and instructors. We will consider challenges and strategies of different teaching and learning environments, while also focusing on the well-being of instructional staff and students. Using this framework of care, the course will also invite participants to reflect on their teaching practices and consider the ways in which these practices might lead to a more flexible course in the future. In this fully online course, participants will learn by doing through ongoing participation in weekly learning activities.
