Book Launch - Maraña: War and Disease in the Jungles of Colombia

Join us on Tuesday, March 4 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. for the launch of LA&PS post-doctoral fellow, Lina Pinto-García’s new book, Maraña: War and Disease in the Jungles of Colombia, published by the University of Chicago Press. 

Lina Pinto-García earned her MA (2014) and PhD (2020) from York’s science, technology & society (STS) program. Maraña is the final output of her PhD dissertation, offering a compelling exploration of the entangled relationship between war and disease in Colombia. This special event will be chaired by Denielle Elliott, with insightful commentary from Aryn Martin, Drew Belsky and Luis Van Isschot.
