DESCRIPTION:As Mani Mazinani ( https://manimazinani.net/ ) is in the final days of his Connected Minds residency at York University he is inviting visitors to his on-campus studio, dubbed SOLAR LAB, where he has been developing his Solar Organ project. This will be an opportunity for visitors to see, hear, and feel some of the projects that were created during the residency.  Three multimedia works will be installed in the studio along with a demonstration of the Solar Organ. Mani will be hosting a closing reception during the late-afternoon of Oct 1st, with the promise of delicious refreshments served and Karaoke performed! His practice evolved from an early interest in sound recording, now working with the process of translating thoughts into recordings in various media. His visual work thinks about scale and perception, often combining subject matter and medium. Mazinani is currently researching origins of ancient thought, perceptual limitations of humans, and improvisation. Exhibition and performance history includes Evergreen Brick Works (2024), MOCA Toronto (2024), Tate Modern (2019), The Bentway, Toronto (2018), Tehran International Electronic Music Festival (2017), SIP Culture Centre, Suzhou (2016).\n \n
