DESCRIPTION:Glendon’s Centre for Research on Language and Culture Contact invites you to our first round table of 2025-26, bringing together scholars with expertise in linguistics, translation, and Deaf studies to illuminate the forces that shape signing communities and their linguistic ecologies. Presenters will discuss how signed and spoken languages interact across time and space. In English and French, with ASL interpretation provided throughout. All are welcome! A small reception will follow.\n\nLe Centre de recherche sur le contact des langues et des culutures vous invite à une table ronde qui réunira des chercheuses spécialisées en linguistique, en traduction et en études sur la Surdité pour éclairer les forces qui façonnent les communautés signantes et leur écologie linguistique, ainsi que la manière dont les langues des signes et parlées interagissent.
